My seats are shot. The foam has been shot for a while and the vinyl started to crumble on the seats which was a big surprise after 29 years. I'm going to rebuild them over Christmas and was wondering about the leather seat covers from Prestige autotrim. For the money it doesn't seem like a bad deal compared to moss. For those who have installed them how are the quality of the covers and how are they holding up.

Also I need to replace the seatbelts as the inertia real is locking up constantly when trying put the belts on. Its done this for as long as I've had the car 12 years and I remember it always doing it in the years before that. Are the replacement ones from Moss of good quality and easily installed? Or are there other good options out there for seatbelts?

There is a fellow in Canada who imports leather seats from England ten pairs at a time and sells them on ebay for $375. I bought a pair that look nice in the box, but I haven't installed them yet. That will get done this winter, I hope! He has great feedback from other buyers too.

I bought the ones from Prestige and they were delivered remarkably fast. In addition, they will let you specify the "piping" color and I chose to match the British Racing Green with dark green piping and it looks good. Take the seats apart first however since you will also need the webbing for the bottom and perhaps some of the foam replaced. Take them all apart and paint the frames after cleaning and then repaint the slides with aluminum paint. You also may paint the "wooden" stuff underneath with black paint. When you reassemble and getting those bolts in is a bugger, go buy longer ones from Home Depot and it makes it much easier. Hope that helps.

As far as the seat belts, I bought the new aftermarket ones from B Hive and I think everyone buys those same ones from the third world. They are OK but still are a real pain in the butt to get out especially when you have the top down unless you fold it exactly as the websites tell you to and who does that? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hammer.gif
