Hi Guys! Big milestone today. First time in years Midgie has had a battery connected and new wiring harness. I feel like I made some headway.

Head lights, tail lights, parking lights work. Low Beam/High Beam circuit works. Even the gauge lights work, and the rhesostat works fine. Finally got the kinks figured out for the hazzard switch circuit. I can't seem to get the turn signals to function though. With the hazzard switch on most lights blink as they should. Back side marker lights will only turn on with the hazzard switch on. I'm very disappointed in the quality of the new front side marker lights. Neither one works. I've tried swapping them opposite sides, but nothing. The wires are too short. Tried connecting one light and the green wire pulled completely out of the back. They need at least another 4-6 inches.

Usually for me if anything is going to work as it should it's the heater fan. Not this time though. I took my test light and I'm not getting power to the fan. I haven't checked the switch in the dash yet.

So far no smoke or fires. Somehow a 35 amp fuse popped in the fuse block. It's the circuit with the white wires on one side, and green on the opposite.

I have to admit. I couldn't resist turning the key just to see if the starter would turn the motor over. Surprisingly enough it turned over well. Coming closer to actually hearing her run!
 
Think heater, windsheld wipers and something else on same circut, and that is the one that blew I bet.
 
I tried another fuse (same amp size) and it didn't pop. I turned on everything I'd tried before. I don't have the wiper motor plugged in, nor the wiper stalk. I bought a replacement wiper stalk a long time ago, then discovered it's the wrong connecting block.

Turn signals still don't work. I'm taking the hazard switch off and putting a jumper wire between the bottom two wires on the switch connecting block. That should tell me if the problem is with the hazard switch, or something else in the circuit.

I've got some new bullet tips (solder type) and going to make an attempt at assembling new wiring pigtails for the front side marker lights. Speaking of bullet tips...I've had a dickens of a time with the new lights and their connectors. The ones on the side marker lights (that don't work) are brass with a flat top instead of rounded bullet end, and bigger than the ones on my harness.
 
When in dought, cut em off and put on new bullet tips.

Not a deal. Had an issue or two with my new wire loom as well but worked around it nicely.

To blow that fuse you must have shorted something, shrug. Remember a brit 35 amp fuse converts to a US 20 amp fuse.

Turn signals are a pain at times, they all must have a good ground and all must work.
 
I tried the jumper wire on the connector block, and still no turn signals.
 
One thing that I did a long time ago (and still have/use) was build a "test use" circuit breaker. I took a small aircraft type circuit breaker (I used a 5 amp one)that I put 12" wires on and alligator clips on each end. I take out the fuse and just clip the clips on to the fuse holder pieces, then if a circuit is bad it just trips the breaker with a small pop that I can hear and I just reset it a minute later. Less frustrating that buying lots of fuses and the pop sound helps locate bad circuits.

Ok, 1. Power to the turn signal switch? If not why not?
2. Power to the turn signal wireing at each cation? If not why not?
