TR2/3/3A Positioning of exhaust bracket

Does anyone have a picture or good explanation of how the exhaust bracket connecting the down pipe and muffler connects to the chassis. Seems there should be two places where it attaches but nothing's intuitive to me. Thanks for any help.

Unless you are building a show car, my suggestion would be to use a modern style clamp on the joint, and a TR4 style mount to support the pipe. I never could get the TR3 style rubber bushings to last very long, and they transmit extra noise to the car (especially once the bushings fall out and it goes metal-on-metal).

As Randall has suggested, it might be best to make one to suit. I did that when I put the exhaust together on my 56. Here are a couple of pictures to show the type of clamp I used and what I did. I used the bolts in the clamp to attached to the bracket I made. I can try to get more pictures if that would help. Cheers, Mike

The stock works fine if you take the time to line it up before tightening anything. If these aren't obvious, let me know and I'll dig for more...

John,
Those pictures are great but generate a couple of questions. First, do you have rubber bushing behind the flat washer on the right side attaching point. And second, how does the left side attach and not interfere with the fuel line. Your second picture ended before it showed that part. I may have to re-position my fuel line some. I think I have it now and can make it work with those questions answered. Thanks!

Forget the question about the rubber bushing. I missed them in the Moss catalog. Got that one figure out now.

You're right! Here are a few more. I apologize, as there aren't any of just the bracket...

As you can see, the fuel line has a bend around the bracket bolt, so that is how it gets its clearance. Also, if you look closely, you can see the rubber between the washer and frame.

John those pictures are perfect. Can easily see the rubber bushings. Thanks a lot. Certainly solves the problem for me.:encouragement:
