Until a couple of months ago I had two 911s...a 70E and a 75S. Sold the 70, made a nice profit. Had a f/i problemwith the 75 so bought a complete take off assy. that a guy did an upgrade to his car. Been in the box since I bought it but am planning on popping the drivetrain out this week-end and doing the changeover..that was untill a complete turn-key engine showed up from a wrecked 75S. Looks like I'll win it so I'll probaly have a complete extra engine and f/i set-up left over. I have an Air Force squadron union in Az. this October and am plan on driving..either my CGT or the 911 if its finished.

But no, just a bit of fun. It does sound like a fun project, keep us informed on how it works out for ya?

Good luck.

The 911s are a blast to drive...my wife says the older I get the more toys I want. The only she she dosen't like is when we go out at nite in the Porsche, some little turd in his rice racer always wants to race. I ignore them for a while then usually pound them into the ground. That in turns makes my wife less than happy...but I tell her its just to keep the plugs clean.

German car...Italian tune-up, humiliate a RicerBoi!
How much more Cosmopolitan does it get?!? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Doc...when a BRIT embarasses the German....I may be dreaming but then again the Germans thought that once before too!!

I still park em in the garage side-by-side...and usually refer to my 911 as just a glorified VW!!!

911 - told Jerri the other day I need to buy one, an old one...911S Targa

Tony..you and I should just merge garages and swap cars once a month......I had actually listed my 911 ..it's an 83 Carrerra Targa....completely redid the engine, redid entire fuel setup..lines..pump, filters, diagram, sensors... it was having an overheating startup problem (Known to happen in P's the gas backs out of diagrahm)...works and runs GREAT now....red, black/tan interior, a/c if you can tell on these air cooled's taht it's any lower in temp...fixed out all the dings and dents (specially the front spoiler.and resprayed areas to match....she's got the turbo styled body and the whale tail and fully polished out fuchs/with new tires GY's....looks everything fast....if you ever get really serious let me know...I love it and love taking it out 2wice a year for a cruise but it just may the ticket for me to go off looking at those MGA's and Lotus Elans or Maserati 3500GT's.....

BIBBER - I'll be in Kansas City for a week next month!

Twice, actually.

And there's plenty of English cars around to harrass them Porkchops, too...

I hold Porsche Training Certs: I've even driven one or two of 'em. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Last car I did before shutting down the shop was a 930 Turbo engine rebuild.

I'll keep my English cars, thankewverrymuch. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Tony..PM me your trip specifics...It still about 4 hours from here but I have family still down there...who knows maybe I can work out a trip down....terrible to say but my family in KC would be as shocked if I showed up in town as little as I get down there to visit them....I take it your planning to meet with the VB outfit?....

I will be visiting them...arriving Sunday afternoon Sep 9, leaving Sat am Sep 15th...staying at the Fairfield Marriott out by the KC airport.

hey we'll see...just talked with the sis down there and they were shooting around an idea of over the Labor Day weekend but the wife and I can't make that....if we make some plans I'll give ya a shout..nothing else we could grab couple beers somewhere around the KCI AIRPUERTO!

I'm slightly biased - I'm still lusting after the P-car I had back in 04 - an 04 C4S. Even the missus liked it - it was the ONLY car (note caps) that we've ever had that she never complained at the progress down the highway. reason being that as soon as she sat in it she fell asleep. The only downside was that it was a ticket magnet.

A mortgage and porkers aren't a good mix though, so off it went...

Of the older ones, I do like the looks of the 930 slantnose - it looks mean. Some day when I'm ready for a midlife crisis...
