Today I began to organize all of the pieces, materials, adhesive, etc, to start covering the interior tonneau capping. I thought it would be a good idea to look at an old part so a dug into the parts bin from one of the parts cars. This car had been and earlier TR3A, TS30XXX era, and the exterior colour was light blue. I always wondered why someone would order a black interior with this exterior finish.

So, I pick up a capping piece, wipe off the dust and apply a little goo gone and guess what? What a nice shade of blue for the interior - but covered with rattle-can black paint!!!

Duh

People are strange!

Indeed they are!

Still not as strange as the guy who made the stainless steel tampon bracket to deal with an oil leak...

Frank - Meanwhile, back at the office . . . I have heard that TR3Bs had the interiors sprayed with aerosol cans of paint. S-T were nearing the end of their supplies of interiors, so when they had a car with a red dashboard, black seats, dark blue capping covers, and tan door interiors, they would get out the can of spray paint.

Now you know the rest of the story !

From 1972 until last year, I had a '60 TR3A with still a fair portion of its original green paint. The interior had originally been grey; over the years between 1960-72, said interior had been "recolored" blue, tan and finally black! (No, I had nothing to do with it!)

I'll see you at the TRA National Meet, Frank!

I'm the one in the powder blue TR3...

With black interior!

Sorry to derail this any further but would the oil drip solution not be a "<span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="color: #FF99FF">Pink Job</span></span>" ?
