Went and looked at a dozen of them last night. Liked the 260 hp model in burgundy. Nice!
How good are they? Anyone have any personal experience with any of them?
Here's Pontiac's link to their site, but I do not put much faith in dealer ads. The competitive comparison chart is misleading as
they compare the Lowest priced Solstice, $24,000.00, to cars with all the options.
The one we looked at, the 260 hp GXP model, was $34,000.00 and change.

My recollection is that in their first year, they were the least reliable car in the Consumer Reports list. I don't know if they've gotten any better or not. Personally I prefer the look of the Sky vs the Bugs Bunny on steroids look of the Solstice, but if I was looking for that sort of car I'd be checking out an MX5 with the very slick power hard top. Did you try lowering and raising the top on the Solstice? It's nearly Bugeye hard.

Geez, Paul! For THAT money you could have a REALLY nice MGB!

....oh wait...

you already know that. :jester:

Drove a Saturn Sky & a Solstice...loved the Sky; felt like I was in a cocoon in the Solstice...& I think Sky's better looking than the Solstice.

I agree with the Sky recommendation. Looks much better and the interior was more pleasant to look at

You know what! My wife agrees with you, as she likes the Sky also over the Solstice. I have to agree with Doc though, I could have a nice, uh, real nice, Brit car for less money and not worry about depreciation! I'll have to do some fast talking though, you know, typical female, once they get their mind set!

But with today's announcement that Pontiac is dead and no Saturns will be built after end of year despite if some investor group steps in...then think of the Solstice and Sky as British cars of the current century.

Well everyone can quit frettin over any of em CUZ they all going to disappear.---Keoke- :yesnod:

From what I've read (no idea if it's true), they lose money on every one.
