Polishing engine parts?

Hi All, I am in the middle of a Tr-3 resto, I just got the valve cover back from the chrome shop and now I realize how dingy a lot of the other bits look.
Specifically the Carb dash pots, the oil filter mount, the thermostat housing. Looking for tips on getting those in tip top shape and would welcome pics!

Polish kits available thru Eastwood or just get metal and use the hands. Most kits use a drill or you can gat a buffer, dismantle and buff each piece. Be aware, you can get bit and polish everything until the whole car shines.

Go too crazy with chrome and your maintenance schedule gets hectic quick! 😉

I did the aluminum on the Jag cam covers just to clen them, got carried away and did not stop until I had all the aluminum shined. Only do it in increments now, but did it look pretty.

This is a way to polish the SU Dashpots.

I agree with you on your first point. It is very difficult to keep the Ali up over time.
Second point is not correct…..look at a Jaguar lump.

My lump after rebuild.

Thanks all, I just saw a gorgeous TR-4 with Jusdon supercharger! The aluminum bits were a flat grey aluminum. Engine and entire car looked great!
