Same plug close up.

Let me guess. Car used mostly short distances in city traffic, then occasional highway trips? The deposits could be oil or gas, but I am betting gas, as they are dry. I would say good mixture, but choke used often, and maybe a bit longer than needed.

And oh, almost forgot...a plug one heat range hotter would likely fit your use better. It'll warm up faster and reduce deposits on short trips.

How'd I do?

You got it. The car is mostly around town. I will take it to my cabin about 75mi away several times during the summer along with a trip through Yellowstone Park. The plug is from no.1, I choke the front carb only because I couldn't get the jets to return to seat properly. Didn't want to mess with the jet assembly as it doesn't leak. For some reason I didn't record when I switched out the plugs.

Thanks for you help, lotsa smart people around here.

I am using a Lucas Sports Coil, so the plugs are gapped a bit wider
