I'm going to need a good belt or 2in an hour and a half.

Time to move the 73B from the body shop to its winter hive and its 12F and falling quickly. No top no heat no trailer.

May the frost bite gods go easy on me.

OUCH!

Remember, layers, and lots of them!

Well the car made the 20 mile drive mostly ok. Air temp turned out to be 5f or slightly lower. For the most part she ran great but would occasionally stumble then backfired loudly out the exhaust every once and a while cruising in 4th gear. It would clear up with full throttle for a bit was fine in all the other gears. Alternator light did come on for a bit after going through a section of road with a good foot of snow on it but went right back out after 30 seconds.

New floors came out excellent and the guy did a fantastic job repairing the area ahead of the floor pans that had rotted out and repairing the center crossmember that the DPO had cut a section out of. Car is now solid and is much quieter now that the floors are not swiss cheese and have undercoat on them.

Things I did learn.

1 3 layers of jackets and 1 Kashmir beanie with a fur hat over it will keep your upper body nice and warm. Long johns and jeans however are not enough and I still can't feel my legs I think my feet will never be felt again. 3 layers of jackets makes rolling up the window impossible. This is a big one if one is going through deep snow make sure to cover up the hole around the shifter unless one wants a face full of snow at 40mph. An MG will get through some surprisingly deep snow for such a low small rwd car.

I'm looking forward to the spring now that the worst part of bringing back this B back is finished. Now the fun part black, tan, blue, or red interior.

If you're asking our opinion, my vote is "Yes!" /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Seriously, black with red piping is always a favorite.

Glad you made it OK, and a little "antifreeze" will do wonders for your legs and feet. My brand is W.L. Weller, but Jim Beam will do in a pinch... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Hot tea, if that's your persuasion...

Man, I've autocrossed in freezing rain with no top, but what you did was die hard.
Take Mickeys' advice.

In years past I would drive my '60 Bugeye through the bar district of our college town at midnight on New Years Eve. Wearing only a t-shirt and blue jeans and of course sunglasses it would always get much attention from the less than sober students. I only did this when the roads were dry and no recent road salt had been applied. I guess I was going too fast for frost bite to catch me lol. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif
