I am a "historian" of british cars and some of you may not have heard that Coney Island is in jeaopardy, please, please help!

A developer has bought it and wants to rezone a large portion of the amusement area into Condo's. Please help us preserve a piece of history.

There will be a march at NY city hall tomorrow.

Attached are a few links, with one being a petition, please help save the beloved Coney Island. Do you have stories or or memories of Steeplechase, thunderbolt, parachut jump.

Thank you for your support anticipated Patrick

Can we sign if we aren't residents?

Yes my dear, please do.

It is a worldwide landmark, that is in jeopardy of being destroyed for "development"

Patrick

Done.

Thank you all for your support, please understand that a few condos would not be disturbing, but using amusement park space for development of 700 units is concerning.

Thanks again.

Patrick

I understand completely, Patrick. We're dealing with all sorts of development here in my area, especially around Park City (where I work). All this beautiful mountain and farmland, all ready for monster homes or massive condo development. There's just got to be some balance there somewhere.

Thanks Drew, exactly see some balance! any help I can provide, please let me know.

your friend.
Patrick

Done, with pleasure! PJ

Isn't it a shame that developers have to destroy so much for a few. 700 people get the "honor" of living on Coney Island....7,000,000 people lose the opportunity to visit and absorb a piece of Americana. Hmm..must be progress.

gb1, c.i. was within walking distance from where i grew up in sheepshead bay brooklyn it was the coolest place to play hooky rode the cyclone 18 consecutive times we hung out in the aquarium so often we named all the fish my uncle was chief electrical engineer when they rebuilt it, ive got some great pictures of my mom as a kid sitting on those big wooden horses they had at the steeplechase and her going through those big spinning barrels, i always felt if a kid grew up any other place they where deprived, you bet you have my help.

I signed but stopping developers is like a child trying to stop a D12 bulldozer with a driver who couldn't care less about anything including a child's life.

Its all about money. If I were dictator I would make developers live right where they build. Of course if I were dictator there would not be any developers.
