I am reposting this message from a member on another group of which I am a member. Reposted with his permission, Paul lives in the Tacoma Washington area. In the past, having a "lots of eyes" out there has sometimes led to recovery of stolen items. Original message below:

Today, mid day, I returned home from shopping, only to find that my house had been broken into. Among the things that were stolen was my laptop and my COMPLETLY REFURBISHED BUGEYE DASHBOARD. I had it in my house for safekeeping(how smart am I)? I live in the Tacoma, Federal Way area of WA.
First, I would like everyone to be on the lookout for it. Craigs list etc.
And secondly I need some help on estimating the value of a completely refurbed dash, complete with all switches, gauges and new vinyl covering AH Spares. This will be the first thing the insurance company will ask.

Thank you, Paul

Still no word or any clue to where my dashboard has gone. I think that the (can't use the word) who stole it have no clue what it is for or even what it is. I will submit a claim to the insurance company tomorrow and see what they say. I have a document that will suport my claim, so we will see. Stand by.
Thanks Gerard and others who have helped.

Paul

makes you wonder if they didn't come to steal the dash, and saw the laptop and decide to take it. Who would want to steal a dash? Not to cast doubt of people you know,

but sounds like the dash is why your house got broken into.

Yeah, but what British car guy would break in and steal something?!

It just doesn't fit the profile.

Granted, I might steal women folk but never car stuff. :joyous:
