Hey everyone. I have a 1979 Midget that I want to get rid of. Here's the thing: It hasn't been registered since 1998. It has has a ton of promise as a resto project: new stainless exhaust up to the head, new top in box, a spare transmition, etc.

I just want rid of the car and thought of parting it out, but it really is too nice for that. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can sell the whole car without being liable for smog and back due registration fees?

Is anyone in the SF Bay area interested?

Thanks in advance!

Craigslist to Oregon & Washington?
I'm not sure what the regs are there in CA - but if someone out of state buys it then they have to register it in their state.

If you haven't non oped it you may want to check with the dmv and see if its sill in the system. If it is and if I'm reading this right you will owe 160% of the current registration but since you cant smog it I if you could pay the back fee and then non op it.
