Was a clear night so I thought I'd see if I could get some decent moon shots.

Wow. How long was the exposure?

That's really a good shot.

I've not done quite that well with my telescope! The "terminator" always makes moon shots really interesting.

Speaking of telescopes, it's on my bucket list to get another good tele some day. Had a nice 8" reflector for years, but sold it when we moved to new house. Would like to get about an 8" (or bigger) Schmidt-Cassegrain someday.

Schmidt-Cassegrain definitely the way to go... though I only own a 10" reflector and a 4" refractor. The Schmidt-Cassegrain are nicely compact (but cost a bomb).

I want to get one with a computer / gps that will track objects.

Definitely. All the good ones (even the lesser ones) nowadays have very good tracking software... with huge libraries of objects. One can dial in what you want to see and it goes there.

I used to have a 4" reflector with the goto handheld controller. It was OK. I was quite proud of sitting in darkness for at least an hour, then going out and actually seeing several messier objects. It would at least hold still enough to see a few things. I always wanted a big cassegrain.
