Playing around in Photoshop

The first picture is "as shot" (maybe some slight LR adjustments).

The second picture I used layers to cut out the surfer, add him as a separate layer, then use motion blur filter to blur the background to give in an artsy fartsy look.
Then I added back the unburied surfer and mad a copy of him, inverted it and added some transformation and ripple effects for the shadow. No idea what I'm doing, just playing.

Not bad basil, looks like marty McFly on his hover board,
I am stoll using MGI photosuite, no where near in the same league as Photoshop but for light editing and retouching i get pretty good results.

Thanks. I know about .05% of what Photoshop can do.

Using GIMP (I'm on a CEntOS Linux machine) here for retouching and setting file sizes. GregW turned me on to Darktable a few months ago, much like Photoshop, and like Basil I've slim knowledge of the real capabilities yet. Still in the learning stages. I have Horsemits for the heavy P'shop stuff. She's been using it since it came out, she could probably be an instructor.

I get the feeling Greg forgot more than I’ll ever know.

If there were a "Me Too" icon in the "Like" array I'd have hit it. Put me in a professional darkroom with a good enlarger and I'm right at home. Open photo manipulation software and I'm a babe in the woods.

This was one i did for a friend in the Philippines, his budy had gone back to the states leaving this jeep in my friends care,
jeep.jpg
so i flattened the tyres and added the barblie decals.

jeep1.jpg
after which came the toilet, curtain and puddle,
Then my friend sent the picture to his budy and said look what the locals did to your Jeep
