MGB PLAYBOY MGB

Has anyone else seen the MGB in the current issue of Playboy? It's part of the centerfold pictures. A "friend of mine",,, wink wink, told me about it.
My only complaint, the girl gets in the way of the car.
Now there's something to look at after you read the articles.

I knew this father/son project car was going to be fun ... but we're going to need a better defense with my wife than "but dear, we bought the magazine for the car."

Who will be brave enough to back up that line??? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Hmmm, how about...."I knew that any car they put in Playboy would have to be perfect, so it will give us something to aspire to after I pin the centrefold on the wall of the garage". Okay, that's a bit thin too, but it's the best I've got /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I bet I could get my wife to go buy it for me. Man, that would be something to brag to my buddies about. I may have to attempt this! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

I was going to tell my wife about it, but I think I will just settle for the Annual Swimsuit Additon of Sports Illustrated that she gets me for my birthday every year!

I really don't think she will buy the MG story! LOL

If you do make the attempt, please let us know.....especially if it is successful. You would forever be revered as above the level of mortal men here on the BCF!!

Hey,,, get this.
I told my wife about the pictures last night.
She said, "I guess you're going to cut them out and hang them with your MG in your garage."
Now, I take that as having permission to do just that.
How would you take that? And do your have spare garage space for me and my MG to live in?

ICESWH,

I see you're from Sinking Spring... would that be the one right outside of Reading, PA?

Wow! An opportunity like that doesn't come often. I will make the attempt tonight. Should I tell her to get me beer too? Or is that pushing it?

hmmmmm,,, the beer would ba a nice touch. but i'd have to wait for the right time for that one.

On a similar topic, how do you get to be the guy who's car is used for the photo shoot!

Well as the owner, you would have to be present to make certain that the car was treated correctly, and to advise on the proper lighting. I'd never wash the car again!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

ICESWH,

I grew up in Wyomissing, but currently go to Temple University in Philly. I went to Wilson High School. Small world!

My wife would actually believe me if I told her that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

SHE DID IT!!!!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

She's on her way to buy it right now! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

THE EAGLE HAS LANDED!!!

My wife just got back and handed me the magazine. I'm still in shock! What a woman! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif The photos show a red pull-handle MGB convertible with black / red interior. Fender mirror(s), wood steering wheel, Mini-lite bolt-on wheels (rostyle spare) and oddly side reflectors from a later model.

Lets see, there she is in her car in the first photo smiling. Of course she's smiling in that beautiful car! Now she appears to have a flat tire but she's really happy about it. Next she is pouting as she begins to install the spare, probably because it's a rostyle wheel. Now she's far from the car but still has the wheel with her and she's smiling. Maybe she couldn't figure out how to install it so she's having fun rolling the wheel around in the dirt? Or perhaps she's happy with the great tan her behind is getting with her skirt hiked up so high.

Looks like she gave up installing the spare wheel now, and instead decided it would be a good idea to take off all her clothes and sit inside it. I hope that wheel knows where her bottom has been! Wait, that's not right...

Now I can only assume she finally got the wheel on because she is sitting in the open driver's door of the car smiling, and she put her shirt back on, but only on her back. Maybe she's evening out that tan. Hey, it looks like she's smiling at ME!

Yep, that confirms the wheel is back on because the next series of photos shows her at home in bed. Poor thing must be exhausted! But not too exhausted to play the piano. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Lets see what she has to say about the car...

-----------------------
"I know nothing about cars," Cara says. "Anyone who knows me and sees me changing a tire is going to say, 'Right. You can't even pump your own gas.' But I fell in love with the red British MG in these pictures. It looks like an Austin Powers car. Normally, I'm happy on my Pee-wee Herman bike. I have one with a basket that I cruise around on, okay?"
