I need some type of plastic adhesive that will bond ABS type plastics together that preferably comes out of a single calk gun type tube. Alot of things I find aren't recommended for plastic. Anyone know of soemthing readily avalible from Home Depot or a hardware store?

You could just try This Stuff

Or, just use acetone; it'll work pretty well.

I've also heard that you can chop up small chips of ABS and add acetone to make a sort of slurry/paste that's good for bonding ABS.

If you have a hobby store nearby that sells planes, trains, and automobiles they would be a good place to ask. I have used many different ones and like two part epoxy best. But it does not meet your requirement to come out of a single gun.

HI Yes a good "Model Shop " will stock the product he wants--Fwiw--Keoke

Boss wants to use urethane window sealer. Will go w/ that and see how it works.

I try to avoid any form of epoxy for plastic repair. I prefer to use solvent welding. A good solvent for ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is straight acetone. An alternative is the liquid cement used for plastic pipe sold in the plumbing dept. of you favorite big box DIY store. Be sure that the cement is formulated for ABS and not PVC. Just brush the solvent on the edges of the pieces you want to join and clamp in place until set. Also, if you have some extra material (ABS) exactly like the pieces you want to join, take some small pieces and mix with enough solvent to liquefy then brush on like glue.

Good luck

Most hobby shops will carry a glue/solvent called Tenax7. It's what I use for all of my model building. Works quickly like a "super" glue without any of the headaches that come with "super" glues.

Going from ABS to a stock "plastic" headlight bucket. Some gaps need to be filled. Gotta use what the boss wants to.

AKA: "Mom"

I didn't use any surface prep when I tried polyurethane on ABS and it didn't stick at all.
