While searching the west coast for MG's & MG related stuff I saw this:

Most real overdrives are planetary.

This may be a small Brit unit as seen on the back of an MGB, Spitfire, etc.

Or some vintage hot-rod part.

Many transmissions also have "overdriven" top gear (better than 1:1). This is pretty common on conventional five speed transmissions.
