Plane lands on Wisconsin highway...

Didn't look like the police officer was going nuts over it either, although the airplane did pass him at a pretty good clip - wonder if he got him on radar /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

We had one just south of here today too. Guy took off and had to land on a road next to the airport. It was a non-issue, he taxied back to the airport and they fixed the problem.

I've driven that stretch of road many times but don't recall the plane traffic... /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Craig,

With EAA going on the little airport at Oshkosh becomes the busiest in the world. They used to hold the aerobatic championships in Fond du Lac the following weekend, too.

With all of the air traffic several planes usually have some kinda problems either going to or coming from EAA.

It's funny how I live 50 miles from one of the world's geatest air shows, I love airplanes (although I know zero about 'em) and I've never gone to the EAA Air Adventure.

Kinda like a New Yorker who's never beeen to the Statue of Liberty.

That old motorhome was really moving! Announcer said 60mph...

Funny thing is, the last thing I did before I left the office last night was read this thread and watch the video. On the way home (less than 10 minutes later), I noticed a way too big airplane way lower than normal and perfectly aligned with the highway I was on. For just a moment, I thought....

Anyhoo, it turned out to Be a B-17 at about 600 to 700 feet. I opened the windows and listened to the glorious roar...and he didn't land on US 30.
