Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix at Beaverun pics

Great stuff! Missed seeing you, but saw several other guys from the forum.
That TVR is amazing, up close. They have a matching MGB racer too.
The red MG-TD is stored in Pittsburgh *just* for use at the PVGP. The owner lives in California and has an MGB-GT that he races on the west coast.
Not sure if you spotted the Cobra Daytona Coupe.....a replica but still a really amazing car.
Last night we stayed late at the track and they had some impromptu drag races. Watched a match race between a Mini-Moke and a Honda pit-bike down the main straight. Hilarious.

On the lower rear wheel arch of that TVR I see what appears to be Boffo as a logo. Is that any connection to Jim by chance?

Great stuff! I need to get my umbrella girl to get an actual umbrella.

Two videos from that day (I'll have a lot more soon).

The TVR and MGB are owned by Mike Zappa and raced respectively by his son Chris and Mike (the MG).

Boffo does the race day work for them in the pits and I am sure other off season assistance.

A great deal of my youth and most of my money were spent in that place! I've not spoken to Jim in a year or two now. How's li'l bro Kenny doin'? Kenny showed up here, back in the late 80's but didn't like Florida much I guess.

Keep on Jim about the Mini! That'd be awesome! I've scores of pix of he and Tommy out at The Ledges from back-in-the-day.

May I ask what the MGB was before it was the black & gold? Reason I ask is: I heard Jim had an EP MGB formerly from a Sewickley owner in his shop after the guy passed away. Just curious.

The vids are outstanding. Thanks for posting those!

EDIT: Can't really see Jim's face in detail so didn't recognize him.

The man, the myth, the ledgend ...

As for the MG, it was a Fla SCCA regional championship car painted red. He did have a B out there from Sewickley a while ago

NOW I recognize him!!! Same cherubic face I recall.

That Sewickley B was a friend's car. Orange/"Butterscotch" color. He was the only guy I know who could ~repeatedly~ downshift a three synchro box into first without scrambling the thing.

I'm sure Jim can tell you the stories if he's not done so already.
