just realised the problem i redid the head and now i have 2 pistons not firing no wonder why i couldn't get it to run they fired before is this a valve timing issue not sure what to do .is that possible what can cause this to happen what do i have to check out for

I'm thinking valve timing should not have been affected unless the camshaft was disturbed. I would start by (re)checking valve clearances and, for that matter, ensuring that the valves are opening and closing (as in not stuck open). Also, did you check to make sure that you get spark to each cylinder?

What exactly did you do when you "redid the head"?
I assume you have compression on all cylinders? As Andrew said, the only way the valve timing could be off is if you removed the timing chain or cam.
However; your valve clearances may be way off, check them.

Check you have spark at each plug lead; pull the boot off the plug, put a spare plug in the lead and rest it on the block (ground it) then crank it over and look for a spark; repeat on each plug lead.

RC157,

Welcome to the Forum.

What year, make and model do you have?

after thinking about it i diddn't see if i was getting spark to the plugs will check that maybe the rotor or the cap went bad .i did check the plugs and there was gas on them so i would imagine that there was no spark
