Piston Ring clearance on 1275 pistons

Ready to check ring clearance but don't have the specs. The piston and rings were sent to the machine shop who mounted them on their rods - somewhere their paperwork got lost.

Rings are pre-mounted in the hepolite +40 pistons, model 21250 from Minimania. I need to take them off (3 on each rod) and check the clearance in the bore.

I came across these specs online:

Ring gap fitted capacities except 1275 cc
.007 to .012

1275 cc (top ring) .011 to .016
1275 cc (second and third rings) .008 to .013

Can anyone confirm these? The supplier said just to check the top 2 rings and they should be at .006. That doesn't sound exact enough for me.

Thanks...

The machine shop did not due this? Check with them. If they are worth useing they did.

This shop only does what you tell them to do, and pay them to do. I wish I had had them do it, it would have been worth the dollars.

Although tedious, this is an important thing NOT to overlook.
Use a pair of ring pliers (cheap, NAPA) to remove them without breaking them and take careful note of which surface of each ring goes "up". The top ring is usually assymetric and has a "TOP" surface. File slowly, measure twice, refit, good to go.
