Anyone know what the proper amount of movement/lash there should be between the diff pinion gear and ring gear on a bugeye? Removed the diff while I was checking on an axle issue and noticed that I can move the driveshaft flange/pinion about a 1/16" and get a noticeable "click". Both gears look good, no uneven wear, no chips, nice polished appearance. The differential is also very quiet at all speeds - no hum like I have noticed on some other spridgets so I'm thinking the movement is OK but wanted to check in with others who might know more about this.

Leave it be. They were set up correctly durring assembly and are now are wear mated to each other. Not making noise? No reason to fix something that's not broken.

Thanks. That was my thinking. The previous owner said he had the diff rebuilt so sounds like that whoever did the rebuild knew what they were doing.
