I'm installing a set of piller seals on my BJ8 and when the bottom portion is fit in place(at the door) the door won't shut. This part is too thick. (It's a soft rubber "9" like tube with the fuzzy trim on the leg of the "9" from Moss Motors). Has anyone with a BJ8 any help for me? This is only on BJ8's.

Just so I'm sure we're on the same page: The rubber part is what is getting squeezed between the door and Pillar. The fuzzy part is what can be seen inside the car.

If that is correct; does the new, Moss supplied seal look like the old one? Moss has been known to sell "similar" items that don't fit like new.

Could it be that the door was previously adjusted to compensate for the old worn out or missing seal and the door needs to be aligned to allow a good seal to fit?

My seal just slips on to the shut pillar and the flange at the front fender. It's gotta be a bigger than normal seal or the door was adjusted to do without.

Does anyone have another suggestion??
 
Hi, Thomas. The new seal is almost 1/2 inch rubber tube with a side of fuzzy stuff on the leg of the 9. The old seal had only a 1/4+ tube but it is not original. It went from the windshield to the surround of the door as the BJ7s. I was thinking of shooting glue into the tube form the chrome down to the hing and flatting it???
