Pile-o-vettes

I don't know which is worse, thier fate in rotting, or thier fate if they stop rotting.

I remember that VH1 contest. My first thought was "if I (or some other average guy) win all those Vettes what'll I do with them?" Now we know. He sold them to a rich guy.

They may be collecting dust but they're in a relatively benign and reasonably secure storage environment. They aren't rotting anywhere near as fast as they could be and they're still all together as a collection.

Unbelievable! Talk about a guy who has more money than brains! I have never even heard of Peter Max, so why would I pay a premium for a car he painted (ie, ruined)? If he would like to donate the '62 Vette to "charity," I am sure I could find a way to become a pauper. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I agree, I'd rather see them sit there than become the target of "artistic expression".

What a shame, he should just auction them off to someone who will really appreciate them and find some other medium to use as a canvas.

Peter Max has actually painted several cars, including the BMW "Art Cars". And frankly, his art project for the Corvettes doesn't seem all that outrageous. I mean, paint each car a different color, following the color chart, then drive them into a football stadium? It's the sort of thing I'd do. Paint the cars, take some pics, sell them off.

Thats horrible. Why would someone do something like that to a car, it reminds me of Janis Joplin's nice like porsche which someone ruined.

I bet now that this has been published something will happen...I sure hope he doesn't paint them though! You'll probably get a frenzy of Corvette people down there wanting to see them.
