TR6 Pics of your valance bumper gaps on a 73 TR6

Well, I awoke last night and wondered if I had a crumpled rear bumper mount or rear valance. So out came the old bumper, and sure enough the brackets on it were squished. A little heat and a bench vice seams to have corrected that problem.

I still have doubts as to whether the valance sheet metal is also crumpled, so before I start pounding, it will be very much appreciated if a couple of you out there could take a picture looking down from the trunk to the rear bumper and take a couple measurements, like each end and the center.

Thanks

Picture is poor. Tape reads approximately 1/4 inch gap accross bumper from center line to just inside the rubber
bumpers as follows:

and

Then as you move to the outside of the bumper going
around the corner, you're looking at right about
1 inch, laying the tape as follows:

Hope I've helped ya, Ray

69-74 & 74.5-76 use different rear bumper brackets. On the later cars the rear bumper sits higher than earlier cars. Not sure of the clearance from the valance to the bumper but check the measurements with a similar model year.

Thanks 2wrench. Seems your bumper, even though a '74, exhibits the same variation in gap between the center and ends as mine. So now I can stop worrying about it and move on.
