Pics of '77 2500M

Looks good! How does it run? Was the wood dash what they put in '77's? I really like that much better than mine. I also really like the clean look your car has without the front fender side vents - wish mine didn't have them.
Keep us updated on your progress. I'll be particularly interested since I'm be doing much the same with mine.

It's supposed to run but I haven't had it running yet. I have turned it over and it gets good oil pressure. The carbs leak like crazy, I've got radiator fluid coming from somewhere and a lot of oil coming from what must be the rear main. It's a 3 puddle car right now.

Funny about the vents, you have them and don't want them; while I want them and don't have them!!

I don't know if the dash is standard or an upgrade. Maybe someone can chime in about it. Frankly, I don't know much about TVRs. I just liked the look and I enjoy working on Brit cars and so I thought I'd make a go of it.

Cheers,

Well, you're one up on me, as I don't know much about TVR's or British cars! I do know a little about cars, though, so I'll figure it out eventually.

Well, perhaps I can answer a few questions. First of all, your 77 2500M is actually what is referred to as a 77 1/2 2500M. The reason for the "1/2" designation is that midway through the 1977 production year, they made a couple of changes including the newer taillights instead of the wrap-around TR6 style lights that the rest of the 2500Ms from 1973 had.
The wood dash was used on the 1976-1977 model year run. The side vents were discontinued starting in 1975 and did not return for the remainder of the M-series.
GoBritBaby, I'd be interested in knowing your chassis number so I can list it in my Model Registry for the TVR Car Club or if you want to send me the information, you can e-mail me at tvrccna@cox.net. Look forward to seeing it out and about in the future.

Thank you for the model info. I'll email you off-line with the number for the registry. Perhaps it's already in the registry. I bought it from the 3rd owner.

I'll sign up with the TVR Club here in the US. I've printed out their application; just haven't gotten to the post yet.

Cheers,
Steve

Marshall, did I ever give you the info on my car? I can't remember.

As an update, Marshall told me my car is the 3rd from the last 2500M. He also told me it was originally white. I spoke with the PO who had the car repainted green. He confirmed it was white and had a tan/brown vinyl top that matched the interior. Also a stripe down the sides with "2500M".

I've yanked the bonnet off, it was barely being held on. Most of the anchor points are completely rusted away. I haven't crawled completely under it yet but the frame seems intact so far.

Updated the pics to include shots of the AC system.

Cheers,
