Billy Joe and Jim Bob are working the line at a furniture plant. Billy Joe turns to Jim Bob and says " I have had enough of working this line. Day in and day out I stand here and put furniture together. I'm sick of it. I'm gonna get me one of them management jobs and sit on by butt all day like they do!"
He goes to his boss and ask him how he can be a boss. His boss looks over Billy Joe's work record.
"Billy" he says," You have a good work record and you know all about your job, but your education is lacking. I think you should go back to school and get a proper education."
"Where can I do that?" Billy Joe asked.
"Go down to the community college and talk to the counselor about enrolling in some Adult Education classes." his boss says.
The next day Billy Joe goes to the community college about enrolling in some classes. The counselor suggest he start with the basics courses to get back into the school routine. " I suggest you take math, English, history, philosophy, just your basic courses for the first year."
Billy Joe is confused. " What the heck is philosophy? I never heard of that."
The counselor explains," Philosophy is the study of, well, the way thing are in life."
A blank look washes over Billy Joes face. "Whut?"
"OK, let me try to explain it." the counselor says. "Ummm, Ok , do you have a weedeater?"
"Yea, I got a weedeater"
"OK, since you have a weedeater, I believe you have a yard."
"Yea, I gotta yard."
"OK, since you have a yard, I believe you have a house."
"Yea, I gotta house."
"OK, since you have a house, I believe you have a family."
"Yea, I gotta wife and kids."
"OK, since you have a wife and kids, I believe you are a hetro-sexual male. Thats philosophy." the counselor says.
"darn, thats pretty good. I like that. Sign me up!" Billy Joe says.
The next day Billy Joe and Jim Bob are working the line. Jim Bob ask Billy Joe how his school went yesterday.
Billy Joe said "Oh, it went great. I signed up for math and English and history and philosophy and--"
"Wait a minute. What the heck is philosophy. I never heard of that." Jim Bob says.
"Philosophy is the study of the way thing are in life." Billy Joe says proudly.
A blank look washes over Jim Bobs face. "Whut?"
"OK, it's like this. Do you have a weedeater?" Billy Joe asked.
"Well, no I don't have a weedeater."
"OK, since you don't have a weedeater, I believe you are a homosexual." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
