My hands were too cold...Even after spending all night in the pub, it was COLD.

Got to chat with the guy holding Phil.....He's a hoot!

In fact, about a dozen of the dignitaries were at the pub all night, including the MC.

He explained that Phil was much easier to understand if you put yourself in the right frame of mind.

Sounds just like *home* to me! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Balzac Billy also agrees with Phil... Who's Balzac Billy you ask? Our local spring forecaster here in Alberta

I did try to make it to the bustling city of Balzac for the grand event, but just couldn't pull it off /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif And he even has his own website... https://www.balzacbilly.com/

Unfortunately for us in the intermountain west, we're in for more winter here in Utah. Nobody east of the Rockies, and that includes the venerable Pauxatauny Phil, can forecast the weather here. Being a former weather forecaster myself, I celebrate it with "Gizzy Joe," our 13 pound black and white cat who serves as our pseudo-groundhog. When I get home from work on Groundhog Day, I grab him and toss him outside. If he sees his shadow, or sticks his paw into a snowbank, it's 6 more weeks of winter here. It was a bright sunny day, and he was shaking the snow off all 4 paws, so I guess we're still in for it here.
