I know I need one, I know that it is black, I know that I need to use the gas tank mounuting bolt, But.....

What gauge wire is it?

I have never looked closely at the gauge of that wire but I would say 'not much'. Thinking back it may have been 16ga or even smaller.

Remember: too large (12 or 14ga) is okay, too small is a problem.
 
I was going to guess 14 gauge based on the parts car I had - its pretty small.
 
Thanks, I used #14 cause I had it laying around.
