Peter Sallis RIP - the voice of Wallace & Gromit

How sad. I will have go find my DVDs of Wallace & Gromit and watch over the next few days.

I've seen a lot of British shows, but somehow that one escaped me. Never even heard of it.

Yes, claymation. The most "famous" movie was probably "Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" (complete with its famous A35 van). From the same studio but different clay characters was "Chicken Run".

There were only a handful of movies so they are easily overlooked but they are also very entertaining... to me at least.

EDIT: There do appear to be several movies and shorts on YouTube should you care to watch a few. I won't post a bunch of links here but the one below should be a bunch of "shorts" strung together so it doesn't represent a commitment of a lot of time.

"Crackin' good toast, Gromit."

My favorite was "The Wrong Trousers" It might have been the first one.

There are the movies and then yes the episodes - and, Basil, well well worth watching! I also increasingly appreciate pretty much anything without language and sex and violence etc. etc. - and FWIW I prefer the episodes to the movies.

If you like Wallace and Gromit try Shaun the Sheep. Its another Aardman Animation, aimed more at kids, but amusing all the same.
