For some of us who grew up in the 1950s and 1960s, especially a loss.

Sad.... I loved his music and poems. I used to read Abiyoyo to my Daughter.
He had a good run.

He was one of my founding musical inspirations, grew up listening to his recordings with Arlo Guthrie. Saw the two of them play in the 1980s, just two guys on stage with guitar and banjo making great music and getting the whole place singing.

He kept playing right up to the end, even as his voice was failing him. Not a bad run for a chap with a banjo.

What a contribution he made! Not only as a performer, but composer as well. Two of his: "Turn, Turn, Turn" and "The Bells of Rhymney", one of my favorite Byrds tunes - love McGuinn's 12-string in it:

Is that Arlo on the keyboard? They all look kinda familiar.
