Very sad news - Former Sen Pete Dominici of New Mexico has died. Sen Domenici was a huge advocate for individuals with mental illness and their families. He was also a big supporter of NAMI being that he has a daughter diagnosed with Schizophrenia. As a matter of fact, his wife, Nancy, and one of his other daughters were both in on of my Family to Family classes a couple years back.

PS: I am honored to have been asked to be an usher at his memorial service Saturday.

Just an aside - my father was very good friends with the man who ran Sen Domenici's New Mexico office (they were in Army together)
