Wedge Pertronix distributor for TR8...will it work

I have the opportunity to acquire a slightly used Pertronix distributor model#D175510 for a very reasonable price. It was used briefly in a Rover. This is a distributor manufactered my Pertronix, not just the pick-up unit. Does anyone know if this distributor will drop into a TR8 engine without any changing of drive gears or any major wiring changes.
Pertronix Corp. says it will install in Rover, but no mention of a TR8. Some sites state it will drop into a TR8, but with no real details of installation and other sites just state Rover and MGBGT.
Any info. would be helpful, cause my friend would have to mail it to me and I'd like to make sure it's going to work before I buy it from him.

If the Pertronix does not work out, Woody has Mallory units which do drop right in and are nice units.

BTW - post comes pictures of your 544 and 1800 when you get a chance. I have a 122s I'm in the process of building up.

tdskip, Thanks for the info. about the Mallory, I've considered buying that one, but if this Pertronix works, it will save me needed cash big time. For some reason, I cannot post on this site, I suppose my pictures are to large. Anyways, if you want to see my Volvos, go to www.cardomain.com/ride/3360428 and you should be able to see several pictures of the 544 and 1 of the 1800. The 544 is finished and being driven whenever the weather is permitting and the 1800 is totally apart and having a slow restoration.
