In December I successfully defended my thesis for my second masters degree, this time it is an MA in History. Just about a half an hour ago I submitted the electronic proof copy to the university archives and ProQuest. Once it is approved it will go off to the printers. I'm done and a celebratory whisky is called for.

Congratulations! Great feeling to see the result of all your work.

I remember when the doctoral committee called me back into the room after my dissertation presentation, and applauded as I re-entered the room. I did the PhD for my parents - and am still proud of what I did, and all they did to emphasize "education is something that no one can take away from you".

Well done Walt.
Dr. Tom.

Thanks Tom. A PhD is certainly something to be proud of. It's a lot of work, time, and money. I was asked if I'll pursue a doctorate and I told them the truth, that I have no interest in pursuing my education any further. I did, at one time consider it but it doesn't make any monetary sense for me. If I switched over to teaching full time at a university I would have to take a pay cut. Right now, I feel like I have the best of both worlds teaching at the high school, and now college levels.

Congratulations, Walt! The time, effort and expense paid off. Well done. 👍

Job well done Walt. I'll have a whisky in your honor tonight.

Congrats indeed - that is an amazing accomplishment. What is the subject?

Dr. JP (Who did it entirely for personal gain - there was literally no financial incentive :wall: )
