I have been quietly trying to get up to speed by reading all the great posts and advice on this site and now I need some input from the experts.
I have a 1275 that I picked up that is supposedly rebuilt (TBD) along with a ribcase tranny.
Everything externally points to this being a late '73 1275 unit as advertised; 12v/671ZL21959 engine #, AUD 502 carbs, 12g1361 head, etc.
I pulled the tranny and indeed a new clutch was installed with new t/o bearing etc. Everything looks nice including a newly resurfaced flywheel.
However, the clutch is the older B&B spring type, so I figure I will replace with the newer diaphram type and a lightened stock flywheel.
I was surprised to find a 4 bolt flywheel mounted. I pulled the flywheel and found only the 4 bolt and no positioning pins (plus the 6 mounting bolts on my other 1275 core).
Any ideas? Is it possible to install a 10CC crank in a 1275? Is there a chance this may have a performance component installed?
I will send pictures later but I welcome any thoughts you may have in the meantime.
