Pebble Beach: auction results 100 Le Mans

Was able to enjoy the Peble Beach experience last week with my wife while visiting our daughter who lives in San Francisco. Carmel was nice (little chilly). Everyone asked where we got are tans from (Ohio).

Went to the Mecum and Bonhams auction to see a few Healeys go through the auction. Little dissappointed in the quality of the cars except for the occasional Kurt Tanner cars. Most of the rest were flawed in one way oy the other.

Bigggest interest for me, since I own one, was the 100 BN-1 Le mans car up for auction at Bonhams. A nice number #2 car with poor alighnment at the rocker /door/ rear fender interface. An obvious rocker replacement not done well, after market valve cover, but a nice car that if you saw it at a Healey event would not WOW you.

Went for over $92,000 including buyers premium. Yes, I was quite shocked.....Felt my car was better, yet I only have it insured for $55,000.

Called my insurance company to increase my value...

Hey Pete,
Good to hear that result. Shows that the BN1 Lemans and by extension 100M's are continuing to do well. I keep raising the value on my 100M with Hagerty to keep pace somewhat with the auction results. Mainly to be covered if another hurricane decides to come closer than Irene is today I can rest a bit better !!
Regards,
Mike

Wow, that is a beautiful 100M ! But $185,000 ? Oh well, guess my decision to raise my coverage occasionally won't make the Hagerty underwriters take notice if they see this one advertised !

Bruce commands top dollar for the cars in his shop, but their usually "right-on" with no sorted stories.
