PCV Valve

Still working on getting the TR4A to run well, all of the time. Kind of like tilling at wind mills !
Bought a replacement diaphram for the PCV valve, but doesn't look like what's presently in the valve.
New part is a thin molded disk, no holes.
Existing is thicker w/ the metal plunger glued into a hole on the underside.
What's a properly functioning valve supposed to look like ?
Also, any problem(s) w/ just running a hose directly from the valve cover to the intake manifold and bypassing the valve ?

You really don't want to make the crankcase part of the intake manifold !

However, a PCV valve off an American car would probably work; with some adapters.

Or, you could just plug the port to the manifold, and leave the rocker cover port open. Maybe run a hose from the rocker cover down near the ground, or into the air cleaners ala TR4.

Not that the Crypt Car should be used as an example, but
when Jeff Palya rebuilt my carbs and intake manifold, the
manifold came back with the PCV gone and the opening filled
in. The few times the Crypt Car has been operational, the
lack of the PCV valve seems to have no ill effects.

A hose now runs directly from the valve cover to the air
cleaner cover small tube in the back.

The first time I had to have the Crypt Car towed because of
breakdown was when the PCV valve popped out and the car quit
dead in the middle of the road. DPO Pedro had it held in
place with masking tape.
