PCV valve query????

Was wondering if there is any reason not to use a generic PCV valve from say a chevy V8 instead of the pancake valve originally fitted to spridget's??? Any and all insight appreciated.

Kurt.

Paul A. put one in my 1098 years ago, instead of the pancake one. It goes right into the manifold, and the hose goes to the canister, and looks a lot cleaner. Plus there seems to be no need to clean it every so often, or worry about the rubber diaphragm.

Thanks guys, I figured it would and just wondered why the brit one was so complicated.

Kurt.
