TR6 PCV valve attachment 69 TR6

I was going crazy trying to find a vacuum leak on my 69 TR6, and I finally found the source: The PVC valve was just stuck into the inlet manifold and leaking air where it sits in the inlet manifold. It appears to have been glued in with something at one time. My question is is this the correct way to fit the PVC valve into the manifold? If so, what type of glue or gasket compound should be used? How long does it take to dry? I am going on a trip tomorrow night, so I would be especially delighted with any suggestions you may have. Thanks in advance.

Kevin- Might be time, if you still want to run one, to pick one up from Moss. Just remove the old one and by pass it until the new arrives. $40 though, kind of steep.
As the website says. Get Two ,one for your toolbox. yea at that price I'd want to sell as many as I could.
 
The valve itself is ok. I have a spare engine only a few serial numbers away, and the pcv valve is installed the same way - they used some type of glue or gasket compound. Seems kind of a funky way to attach this, but I guess on later models this unit was threaded. I am going to relace the diaphragm later, but for now I just need to know what type of glue or gasket compound to use to intall it back onto the intake manifold. I can't believe how I missed this problem and the impact on performance. Any suggestions on a type of glue or gasket compound?

Mines a fairly tight fit on my 250, I would think just about anykind of silicon. An hr or so should be enough time to let it set up.
