Guess I've finally got to break down & become a member - seems most weekends they're having great concerts ...right now its The Four Lads..5:30 til 8:00...don't know who else is gonna be on but its advertised as all the hits from the 50's & 60's.

Oh, now the Four Aces are on...

Back to my earlier question in another thread...wonder why they were always "Four Something"?

Tony,

I have no idea but I just saw the Moody Blues an hour ago on CPTV. I had to run to the bathroom mirror to do an age check.

I think I put a few more grays up there just watchin it.

hehee. Been a PBS supporter for decades. First WQED and now WEDU. Not a ~big~ contributor, bit a *steady* one. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

That Moody's show is a mind blower, innit? And the "kid" who produces the "oldies" shows they're running at Pledge times now is a native of my old familial stompin' grounds. T.J. Labinski, IIRC. New Brighton, PA. 'bout th' size of a dime, that place.

And it was the "home" of our local BMC/Leyland dealership in the '50's ~'70's.

Darn, missed the Moody show....

Oooh, the Four Freshmen!!

Peter Paul & Mary are on now.

Maybe NY PBS is running different programming?

They are singing with Richie Havens.

Probably, Vinnie. My three local PBS stations are running Celtic Women, Daniel O'Connell, and a folk music tribute hosted by Judy Collins and The Smothers Brothers, respectively.
Jeff

I went from the PBS special to music by KEM - that guy is absolutely great...man, he's the future of R&B...how'd I miss him?

Just got thru watching British Invation on PBS. 60's tunes played recently by the original artists. Saw Procol Harem, The Animals, Argent, Herman's Hermits, Moody Blues, and a lot more.

Hey now, I'm listening to Day of Future Passed as I type. Who you callin' old?

There is a station on Sirius that plays "Deeper Cuts" songs from band like Argent, Procol Harum, The Moody Blues.... that are rarely played on terrestrial radio. It's refreshing to hear that stuff.

Saw that too....amazing! If I can scratch up the extra dough, I'd like to get that DVD.

And Jeff mentioned Celtic Women......Oh Yeah! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
