Looks like such a fun vehicle to have to tool around town or get out into the wilderness with

I bought one new in 73 and hated it! Had it one year and sold it. During that time, the brakes had to be worked on, one seat broke down, and three rear axles later is when I sold it. It's a 55 MPH vehicle and at that the engine is screaming. A doctor friend I know had the longer version that he took to Africa every year on safari. He had a special axle carrier made that bolted to the inter rear wheel wells to carry 4 spare axles. Last axle I bought was $185.00! Last time I saw his it was in the shop getting a new right door that a Rhino put his horn through, plus other work. Mine was never abused and the broken axles was taking off at an intersection where sand was on the asphalt and the tires slipped when taking off until they hit dry pavement and snapped the axles. They are unique though in the fact they have full floating rears and front spindles. If you break an axle, (more than likely will), you just put it in 4 wheel drive and keep going. I was very happy to sell the one I had.

I forgot to ad, I bought a 6 cyl Jeep CJ to replace it and loved it! Had the Jeep for 12 years. PJ
