I now have a new drivers license with the letters AMV on it. Had to drive in the rain... and be extra carefull. Our trailer kinda grabs the brakes first, and in the wet can lock-up. Only mistakes I made were picking the wrong left turning lane (when there were 2 to pick from) and not paying attention to the overpass hieght restriction.

YEEE HAWWWW!!! way to go Kenny! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Make sure to watch those overpasses! I've seen some pretty nasty results. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif
This ain't your MGB!!/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

kenny, congrats! the bit about the turning lane isnt bad but i once had a trailer get off the wrong exit from the verranzano bridge and enter the belt parkway in bklyn. he came up from behind me on the right as we approached an overpass i can tell ya it was the loudest thing ive ever heard and what a mess, pealed the top of the trailer like a sardine can, the driver was arrested and subsequently lost his lic.hope ya remember this story every time ya climb in the rig.again congrats. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/savewave.gif

Yeah, good job.
A good skill and not one I'm up for. I can barely drive a car on the right side of the road without thinking about it.

Congratulations. It looks like the plan is coming together. It's nice to see a good guy get a win for once.

Way to go Kenny...but now you can never get a speeding ticket!

YAY!

Congrat's.

Watch the height thing. We once had a guy hit the overhead door going into the dealership with the top of the box on his truck. The door dropped off its track & was laying on the top of the truck - broken glass etc. We called the overhead door company to come deal with it, which they did. The truck driver had to back up a few feet while they got the pieces off the truck & got the door back on track so they could finish the repairs. Long story short - when they yelled to the driver to "move it", guess which way he went - whacked in to it again!

Great to hear!!

Hey, way to go Kenny, but it's Friday, "what's for dinner?"

Yup, Lucky indeed... in the past couple years I've gotten free MG parts, free Alfa parts, a free sailboat, then things went downhill in my old job for a while... now I've got a really good job that included free truck driving lessons, and they paid for the CDL tests, my DOT physical, and my new license! Next will be free school for becoming a state licensed water system operator. Our truck will fit under most hiway overpasses, as it's just a medium sized dump truck (a lot smaller than a tri-axle)... so I never thought twice about looking for the hieght limit on the one we went under (which is around 25 ft high as I recall).

Congrats Kenny. Now you can sit in the right section of the truck stop cafe and tell stories like the rest of us. Had mine for a few years. The most fun to drive is the equipment lowboys. Great fun!! Good job. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
