My British in-laws went to Disney in Florida and found the warm rain there a really incongruous phenomenon. Its unnatural.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Nahhh... Just go out inna back yard starkers wif a bar o' soap an' "save water."!!!

I'll take that under advisement, Jack.

My wife's MGB is now that lovely, creamy Old English white as well... WITH a factory hardtop, BTW. (photo attached).

Edit: I *swear* it was there.

A COLD shower that'd be then... I'll just stay here and drink my warm beer... No, on second thought, a wee dram to warm me up is just the ticket....

Could some one point me to a pic of these, I have no clue? What's the difference.

jlaird - Steve_S's website has a nice section that shows the vast majority of the hardtops that were made for MGBs over the years. here's a like to the hardtop section of Steve_S's site: MGB Hardtops

hmmm... I don't see the factory top on his site... Here's a car from the BCF Photo Gallery of a white MGB with what I believe is an OEM/factory hardtop: Marts_MGB

My car (in my sig) has a Snugtop hardtop.

James, my man, being Scot you should be able answer this question. After having purchased and consumed more than my fair share of Drambuie and reading the label in different states of mind I have never understood what the phrase "link with the 45" meant. Could you please advise? Jack

Thanks Nunyas! I didn't know that there were so many styles for the B. I still lust after a Parrish style, but the photo in that gallery shows one that seems a little too bulbous across the top. The Parrish that I remember was the same general shape but the cross section looking dead on from the side was not quite as "thick" directly above the driver's head. Am I wrong about this? Tony has a few of these so he ought to be able to tell us immediately. Hey Tony! You're needed out here. Jack

I basically gave that particular Parrish top to Adam Housley - the 18 year old who lives near me!

Sorry guys, I'm not a big Parrish or Snug fan...

I use to be a big Snug fan... back when I was into modding trucks... their truck toppers always seemed to fit the lines of the trucks better than most tops I've seen.

The Snug on my B though.... I'm not so fond of the fit. Part of it is the dry rotting weather strpping. There's one thing that I don't like about my Snug that isn't a weather stripping problem. The rear bottom edge of the top doesn't quite follow the curvature of the rear deck. It's close, but the ends (left and right rear corners) don't go down far enough, but the middle section meets the rear deck just fine. New weather stripping might fill in the uneven gap back there, but the fact remains that it's still uneven.

Side note: I've noticed that my SnugTop is hollow between the inside and outside sheets of fiberglass. Because of this it has a horrible resonance. I feel like I'm inside a woofer enclosure if I get stuck next to a big truck (i.e. moving trucks, cement trucks, etc.) at a stop light. Has anyone attempted to fill the void in their top with anything? If so what did you use? I currently have half the mind to drill a hole and start spraying "Great Stuff" up in there... or would that be a bad idea? Suggestions anyone?

I guess I should also say that I'm just thinking about doing this stuff to the hard top, but I'm still undecided on whether or not I'm going to keep it after I get a new soft top...

I used it under the deck of a boat I was rebuilding. I did not watch how much I sprayed and the floor lifted up by the expanding foam. Have used the commercial product to have the bottom of my big rig cab insulated and sealed it worked great there. What eve got in the way an electric knife cut it out.

I have a Parrish hard top that came with the car I bought in May. I've been so thankful that I have it up here in the rainy Pacific Northwest. I use my '77 B as a daily driver as much as possible as my main vehicle is killing me in diesel. F-350 crewcab dually 4x4!

I think one of the nice things about my SnugTop is that people that don't well enough think it's a soft top.... until i knock on it that is... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
