TR2/3/3A Panhard Rod

I am wondering if anyone has a drawing or photograph to
help me along as I am hoping to make one.

The tricky bit is the mounting
onto the axle tube. I think I have a system worked out but I'm sure there a foke
cleverer than me out there who could offer a design.

Saw your post on the other site and was hoping someone would chime in...it rings a bell, but I'm not sure what a panhard rod is??
 
A Panhard rod provides lateral location of the rear axle.

The Rover SD1 has it attached to the Pumpkin back plate

I did see a pic of the Pumkin on a TR3 used to mount the end of the rod but somehow I dont seem to have enough trust in expecting two of those small bolts to take such a shear load.
 
As long as your are going full race prep, extend the rear plate of the diff with
a steel sleeve to get extra oil capacity.attach the panhard bracket to this housing.
Keep the angle smaller than shown in the earlier reply.Drive it like you stole it!!!

Great idea if I was indeed going racing but all I am trying to do is to stop the rear wheels skiping across the road, even on mild corners at low speed, not race speed.
 
What are you using for shock oil????? Brother in law once filled his with 90wt
it skipped and broke bolts.....
I wil bet that a panhard link will not help, the tr3 is not known for this problem
in normal conditions(race yes).

The longer the arc of the rod, the better the geometry. Using the pumpkin cover will work, but the short rod may introduce sideways movement of the rear end as the rod rotates through its very short arc. Optimum is to attach the rod as close the the spring on one side as possible. I have no great idea on how to do that, but I'd definitely reinforce the mount around the axle tube.
