In putting the dash wiring back together I realized the rheostat switch is frozen. I doubt there's a way to get it to turn without breaking something inside. Moss shows a replacement is unavailable. There is a rheostat for the MGB that's available through them. Can the MGB switch be used on the Midget? Reason I ask is that Victoria British shows the same part number for both B and Midget.

"Victoria British shows the same part number for both B and Midget."

Question answered.

Or you could just eliminate the problem ... "hotwire" the dash lights to full bright. Trust me. They're still not all that bright!

I may not need the switch after all. Someone suggested I take the switch off and spray WD40 down the shaft. I did and took an adjustable wrench to turn it back and forth. Now it turns as it should. My question is will the WD40 cause a problem with the contacts inside the switch when it has power applied to it?

Heh, that's what wd 40 really is for, switches and electrical stuff.
