A friend drove his beautiful MGB to a recent car show we both attended and he was told by someone to spray the whole front of his car with PAM to protect the car from bugs. Don't EVER spray your car with PAM! What a friggin mess. And I am not too sure if it didn't affect his paint. Looked kinda dull to me after 2 washings. New paint job yet.

That's the no stick spray for the frying pan.
 
How on earth would Pam keep bugs off the front?

I would have used Brillcream myself- a little dab'll do ya!

And makes your car look so deb-u-naire!!

I had never heared of using Pam for this. But a few friends that are into ATV's spray WD40 over everything but the seat. The dirt, mud and bugs come right off with a water hoses.

Don beat me to it. Everyone knows to use WD-40 fish oil for that. Just don't try to paint over it! You get fish eyes.

Interesting you should mention PAM. Florida has Love Bugs. During the spring and the fall (if I remember correctly) they are out in droves. They are apparently attracted to car exhaust. It's impossible to keep from smashing some onto your paint. Something in their chemistry literally eats through your paint. The common rumor is to use PAM to protect your paint from their smushed bodies. I tried it once. You're right it was very difficult to remove.

It doesn't keep them off, but it makes them easy to turn over when they are done on one side.

I took a set of 72 spoke wire wheels to a Triumph guy to true up. I asked him how he kept his wire wheels looking so good.

PAM

He cleans them then coats with a light coat of PAM when they get dirty he Power washs or steam cleans, dries with leave blower and applies another light coat of PAM.

Does that work well for spokes?

( brake dust is a pain to remove )

would clear spray on silicone work better?
 
High foam soap (Dish Soap)should remove this
Soak first and GENTLY hot water spray wash.
If this doesnt work alcohol should work (test a inconspicuous area first as they (who are they anyhow?)say

I was ever so afraid to admit to doing this but I have used it (PAM) on a Honda Silver Wing motorcycle. ( Oh the humility) There were lots of chrome pipes around the engine and after the first winter storage, I was sick over the rust on my shinny new motorcycle. Somehow I came up with the idea to spray PAM on the chrome to keep the moisture from forming on the metal surfaces during the winter temperature fluctuations. "Sweating". Well do yourself a big favor. It did work but that next spring it took hours and many different cleaners and a scuff pad to clean off. That's probably why that MG's paint was so dull. Probably used some type of abrasive to remove.

As far as those bugs go many are attracted to carbon dioxide like mosquitos and certain bees. That's why you can't get away from them in the woods. Unless you stop breathing!
