Painting Question

Thanks to the many replies from my recent inquiry about the color of my new B body I determined that it was Brooklands Green. As far as I can tell the car has never been repainted. When I have the car painted will it be necessary to strip to bare metal or can I simply paint new Brooklands Green paint over the original paint and achieve good results.

I don't remove a good paint job; but, I do seal that old paint so it can't bother the new.....most paints are compatible but do you want to take the chance?

Jump over to my website & read "bodywork 101" which starts with this statement,<span style="font-style: italic">"The purpose of rough sanding is to remove some of the original finish down to where it can provide a solid substrate for primer to adhere to. Deep rock pecks and chips are to be sanded down to bare metal.</span>
