Painting A Radiator

I started a thread in the restoration section but now it's becoming a broader issue and that forum gets little traffic anyway. So here's the deal...

I have an early MGB radiator that is stripped and ready to paint. The core is copper and the tanks are either copper or brass, not sure.

1. Will my usual self-etching primer be ok on this material?

2. Will the slight (green) oxidation on the copper core pose a problem?

3. Standard Dupicolor paint ok?
