Paint Code

Hello, I plan to purchase some touch up paint for my 1976 TR6 which is British Racing Green. Went to the paint supplier and their database which is accurate for newer car colours came up with three codes. Seaching the net I found a site which identifies a code of BLVC254. Anybody here have any recent experience or suggested sites to comfirm this?
Thanks,
brdave

The book 'Triumph TR6' by William Kimberley notes British Racing Green as paint code 75 and was used from '74 to '76.

The paint and trim codes should be on the commission plate, you can order at paintscratch by the factory code. Assuming you have original factory paint.

Unless you are POSITIVE your car has never been repainted I'd go to a professional body shop supply house and have them put their scanner on the car and they can formulate the CORRECT paint to match your car. Then call Tower Paint in Oskkosh, WI for a spray can of touch up paint made from that paint scan formula. OR have a pint of 'touch-up' paint made up for you.

There are dozens of "BRG' paints out there...

FWIW -- I was amazed at the color match (Triumph Racing Green & Signal Red) with the spray cans I got from Tower Paint.

Wow, you're right.

We are not affiliated with PPG. We have provided the references to the PPG Paint codes as they are viewed as the standard in the industry. PPG is the oldest and largest provider of automotive and specialty paints.

They are using the paint codes from THE PPG, though.

Thanks so much for the input. There is a major body shop supplier which is local who will mix it up while you wait in a small bottle with a dabber. Excellent for stone chips etc.
