Owner's or Service Manual?

I need a service manual for my 1989 Xj6. I also am without an owner's manual. Which should I buy. I am pretty sure I need a service manual, but which one should I get. I know their are some for over $100, but I only want to spend $30-$40. What is a good manual I can order, or should I get an owner's manual?

I have an original Haynes that covers those years. for $20.

If you ordered a Haynes manuel, you've just wasted your money, they are all but useless. Better than nothing, but you should get yourself a good service manuel. The CD's you can buy on ebay are pretty good, and include the parts manuel, which helps to identify parts. I have that, and the green factory service manuel, and their pretty much the same. The manuel I can carry out to my car for reference. Or, I can print off a selected part from the CD to carry out to the car. I also have the Haynes manuel, but now that I have the service manuels, it never gets opened anymore.

XKS Unlimited and Welsch Ent., have the CD manuals for around $25-$30.
